Nigeria - Impact of oil industry on the environment

The Niger Delta comprises 70,000 km² of wetlands formed primarily by sediment deposition. Home to 20 million people and 40 different ethnic groups, this floodplain makes up 7.5% of Nigeria's total land mass. It is the larges t wetland and maintains the third-largest drainage area in Africa. The Delta's environment can be broken down into four ecological zones: coastal barrier islands, mangrove swamp forests, freshwater swamps, and low land rain forests. This incredibly well-endowed ecosystem, which contains one of the highest concentrations of biodiversity on the planet, in addition to supporting the abundant flora and fauna, arable terrain that can sustain a wide variety of crops, economic trees,

EOR Enhanced Oil Recovery Worldwide

Enhanced oil recovery (EOR), also referred to as improved oil recovery or tertiary oil recovery, is most often achieved by injecting a liquid or gas into an oil reservoir, thereby lowering oil viscosity and increasing the amount of oil available for production. Some of the more common EOR methods include CO2-EOR, thermal EOR and chemical EOR. Microbial EOR and seismic EOR also hold a strong niche in the EOR market. While only about 10% - 30% of oil is typically extracted by conventional oil production processes, EOR methods can enhance these recovery rates by an additional 5% to 20%, on a conservative average.

Pile Testing, Pile Integrity Test and Crosshole Sonic Logging Techniques during the Construction

Piles are often tested at great expense and effort, as results are critical in verifying foundation design parameters and formulating remedial actions when needed. As such, the data has to be recorded with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.

Benefits of Pile Testing
  • Increased quality assurance

Pipeline Contractors Play Vital Role in Nation's Infrastructure

Pipeline contractors use an assortment of strategies when installing underground pipeline networks. The kind of pipe utilized will depend on the type of construction job. Oil and gas pipeline is considerably different than sewer pipes or storm drainage systems; although the installation process might be very similar.

Different Aspects of Process control

In the era of globalization process control is one of the most important equipment for industrial era. This is broadly utilized in oil refining, chemical processing, electrical generation and other system. Basically these systems can deal with analog signals from sensors and meters that transmitted to specialized computers. Process controls make extensive use of analog and digital conversion.

Automation in Oil & Gas Industry

In the Oil & Gas Sector, Process Control is an important aspect which faces the challenges of implementing newer automation technologies, disparate systems and others across both upstream and downstream processes. While achieving this, they need to meet the safety, operating and product quality standards. "The Investment in oil & gas automation by the Industry will be strong and is forecasted to grow through 2013 "as per ARC's 5 year Market & Technology forecast through 2013.

Oil / Gas fired boilers

Flame has a tendency to burn upward only. This forms the basic concept of burner. Whenever fresh fuel enters into the ignition zone it starts burning upwards and the flame will not come downwards to the incoming fuel, by this property combustion can be controlled easily, hence it is always better to bring the oil or gas train from bottom of the burning.

Pipeline Construction- An Overview

In simple words, pipeline construction is the construction using pipes. Pipelines are needed to carry a variety of materials for residential, commercial and industrial needs. It includes planning as an initial step which consists of knowing the market demand, specification of pipe and components, route selection, public consultation and land permitting.

Automatic Leak Detection System by Using Radio Remote Control Technology

During these days, pipelines are the most common in different industries such as mineral oil, gases and other fluid products. As a means of long distance transport, pipelines need to be made with proper safety, reliability and efficiency. Most pipelines, regardless of what they contain are designed with a typical life span of many years. However, when they do begin to fail, they do so gradually beginning with leaks at poor structure joints, corrosion points and small structural material cracks and gradually development to a catastrophic ending.

Non Destructive Inspection for safety measures in industries

Today it is very important to check the materials and other equipment of the industries so that the safety can be maintained in the industry. There can be no danger in the industries if the equipment are properly checked and tested. If you contact a leading company that tests the equipment of the industry then it will do all the inspection as well processing jobs in accordance of the industry standard. Issue of certifications of compliance will be there for all the jobs.
